The New Zealand amateur boxing championships were held to-night at the Opera House before a fair attendance of enthusiasts. Twenty-four bouts were staged, and the standard of boxing was good, giving promise of some exciting finals. Results of the first session were:— Bantam-weight. —J. Richmond, S.O (Otago), beat W.
