SUICIDE ECONOMY.
Murderers Should Receive Every Facility. G.B.S. AND DEAN INGE AGREE. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, August 19. Dean Inge is the centre of considerable criticism over his viewpoint expressed at the Modern Churchmen's Conference at Oxford when he declared the murderer's right to commit suicide.
Mr. Bernard Shaw, however, is in full agreement with him. "I shall always feel deeply obliged," the latter says, '"to the murderer who commits suicide and saves a great deal of trouble and expense. Every condemned man should have a collection of poisons and chemicals put in his way. If he chooses to use them, well—the murderer should be told that he will be hanged on a certain day if he is not dead after every possible means of suicide has been provided —then hang him."
