RATEPAYERS' ACTIVITIES.

At the monthly meeting of the Western Area Residents' and Ratepayers Association, Mrs. J. C. Blomfield presiding, it was decided to join forces with the Municipal Band at the fair to be held in November. A letter was received from the .League Football Association asking that the "■■round allotted for play in Taharota Park be drained. The letter was forwarded to the Takapuna Borough Council, and the necessary field, pipes are to be supplied. '~•*, . A report having reached the association that it was intended to let the pound stables for cattle sales, a letter ot protest was eent to the council. The association said such sales would be dangerous to children and destructive to footpaths. A petition for the stables to be removed from th 6 main road is being formulated. '
