LEYS INSTITUTE ORCHESTRA.

As a listener-in I liave on several occasions heard with a great deal of pleasure the concerts broadcast by the Leys Institute Orchestra. Seeing that tliey were to play-at the commencement of the programme on Saturday, the opening of the Music Week festival, I was extremely disappointed at their aon- 1 appearance and that no explanation was offered for it. Perhaps I could be enlightened? As, I understand, it is an orchestra composed mostly of young players, it seems to me a great pity the public have not liad the opportunity of seeing as well as hearing the performers whose programmes have come over the air so well. Especially is this the case when the main object of the Music Week i festival appears to be the encouragement of I music among young people. INQUIRER.
