AT THE MARTS.
LEMONS ARE PLENTIFUL BANANAS FAIRLY ABUNDANT. EGGS THE SAME PRICE.There are still large quantities of lemons coming into the markets. The .demand has, however, dropped off, and prices are correspondingly lower. Poorman oranges are also inclined to be slow of "sale, but there is a good demand for Island oranges. For bananas there is a fairly steady market. A fresh shipment of citrus fruit arrived by the Ulimaroa. Pines realised from 24/ to 25/ per case,- and mandarins from 6/ to 9/.
Sydney oranges, ex cooler, are selling from 7/ to. 10/ a case, Californian grapes at 27/6 a barrel. Prices are: — ' . .

Pears: Coles, 5/ to 8/; Nelis, 6/ to 9/; Vicars, 5/; P. Barry, 5/ to If. Tomatoes: Hothouse, 4d to 1/2 per lb. Tree Tomatoes: 2/ to 4/;. dark variety, 7/ to 9/. Lemons: Choice, 7/ to 10/; others, 4/ to 6/. Passions: 5/ to 10/. Grapefruit: 6/-to 9/; small, 4/ to 5/. Poorman orangee: Large, 6/ to 6/6; small, 2/6 to 3/. Orangee: Island, repacks, 11/ to 16/; Australian navels, 10/ to 13/. Bananas: No. l's, 18/ to 22/6; No. 2's and medium, 12/ to 10/. Guavas: case. Vegetables. The market is heavly supplied with cauliflowers, 'cabbage, lettuce and celery. It is actually over-supplied with Tauranga kumaras, ana the position has been made ■worse by heavy shipments from the Islands. Fair quantities of new potatoes are .available. • Generally speaking, the demand is good. , .Ruling- values are:— . . Eggs Plentiful. Eggs are now plentiful, though the season is late. The demand is fairly good. Current, prices for first quality are:— Special grade, 1/6. dozen; A grade, 1/5; B grade, 1/4; C grade, 1/1. Duck eggs, special grade, 1/6.dozen; A grade, 1/5; ,B grade, 1/4; C grade, V 2. ~■ , ' Farmers' butter '. is selling from, lid. to 1/2 per Ib. The demand.is?fair for moderate supplies. ~ "..., : '■ V?Poultry. V At to-day's auctions the • supply of poultry was short, and the demand was keen. . The . prices , paid remain level. Selling rates were as follow:— \ , Cockerels: Heavy breeds, prime, 6/ to 7/6 each; not prime, 3/6 upwards; light breeds, prime, 4/ to 5/; not prime, 3/ upwards. Fat fooeters; Heavy .breeds, prim.€, 2/6 to 3/6; light breds, ,2/ /to 2/0. Fat ; hens: Heavy breeds, 3/6 to 4/6; light .breeds, 2/9: to 3/6. - Pullets: Heavy-breeds, best, 4/ to 6/6; smaller, 2/6 upwards; light breeds, best, 4/ to 6/6; smaller, 2/6 upwards..
