GOLDEN WEDDING.

MR. AND MRS. T. HARRIS. Mr. and Mrs. T. Harris, of 17, Livingstone Street, Richmond, Grey Lynn, celebrated their golden wedding tins afternoon with a social gathering in St. Columba Hall, Surrey Crescent. They were married at St. Matthew's Church, Auckland, on March 16, 1880,. by tho Rev. Charles Nelson, who was assisted by tho Rev. W. Tcbbs. Mr. Harris was born on the island of Kawau over 70 years ago, and was employed there for many years, during the of Sir George Grey, who made a beautiful home there, in Mansion House Bay. The illustrious statesman was visited by every famous person who came to New Zealand, and Mr. Harris is full of anecdotes concerning life, on the island in its "halcyon days." It will be remembered by "Star" readers that a few years, ago some most interesting reminiscences of the island were published, as told by Mr. Harris.
