TRANSFER OF MAILS.

DIFFICULTY OF PROCESS

WEATHER A FACTOR.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, this day.

When the Tahiti left Sydney she had on board a quantity of mail from Australia for America and Britain, but how much is not known locally. At Wellington the vessel took 699 bags of mail and 111 parcel receptacles from New Zealand. Whether it will be possible to tranship r \h or any of the mails to the ships in attendance is not known. The work which would have to be done by the boats would present many difficulties, and much would depend on the condition of the Tahiti and on the state of the weather. LETTERS FROM AUCKLAND. The Tahiti carried a large mail. She has 699 bags of letters and 111 parcel receptacles from New Zealand. The mails are for Tahiti, the Cook Islands, North and South America, the United Kingdom and Europe. Auckland mails represent 199 bags. Of these 92 bags are for the British Isles, 40 for the United States and 15 for Canada. The Tahiti carried 500 tons of mixed cargo. , ,
