For the first time in tours of the Dominion -when he conceded starts to local amateurs, the professional billiards player Clark McOouachy suffered defeat when he played ah exhibition match of 1000 points up, conceding Shanks, Wellington provincial amateur champion, 000 points start. Shanks reached 1000 when McConachy was 959. Shanks made breads of 06, 53, 45, 34, 29 21, and 26 unfinished. McConachy's best breaks were 158, 148, 12?, 89, 71, 59, 51, 45, 40.
