RUGBY REPS.

NORTHLAND VISIT.

AT EDEN PARK TO-MORROW.

AUCKLAND'S CHANGED TEAM.

Auckland had its strongest rep. team in the field on July 19 against the British side, and this team will not be together again until next Saturday when the players will have a reunion iii Wellington against the Empire City reps. Last Saturday a team depleted by the absence of this year's All Blacks played a draw against Taranaki. To-morrow a team which will include Lucas, L. Knight, McWilliams and Batty of the All Black contingent, but with a great variety of changes in the backs and forwards (owing to the departure of another team on tour), will play North Auckland at Eden Park. It is quite a. new Auckland side, but one which lias distinct possibilities should the 'team strike combination, and there is a deal of interest being taken- locally in the showing of the new rep. players. The North Auckland team has given very variable exhibitions on tour, the games including a high-scoring draw with Wairarapa. Apparently the team's strength lies in a pack of forwards which has held its own against every side encountered, while there are strongrunning players among the backs. The teams are: — AUCKLAND. Full-back.—V. C. Butler . (University.) Three-quarters—L. Hook, F. W. Lucas (Ponsonby), R. Couper (Technical). Five-eighths—C. Lammick (Ponsonby), G. Wales (Marathon). Half-back.—T. Conway. (Marist).
