EDUCATION CHANGES.

BUILDERS' OPINION.

At the monthly meeting of members of the . Auckland. Builders' Association on Tuesday the following motion was carried regarding tho suggested changes in the Education Department:— "This association views with much disfavour and alarm the proposal to centralise in Wellington the management of the, affairs of the Education Department so far as it affects the control of building operations. The present system, 'which secures intimate and most effective supervision and direction, has proved to be very satisfactory over many years, and builders of the Auckland province are greatly opposed to any scheme that would transfer building operations in connection with schools from special district control."
