PRESENTATION.

After 40 years' service with the New Zealand Railways, Mr. F. Hotchin retired yesterday on superannuation. For the past 15 years he has been chief inward goods storeman. He was presented with a big easy chair and a case of pipes, and his wife with a silver teapot. In making the presentation, Mr. A. Spencer, shed foreman, referred to the pleasant times Mr. Hotchin had spent with them and to the popularity Mr. Hotchin had justly earned with all members of the staff with whom he had been brought in contact. Mr. W. Bailey endorsed the remarks of Mr. Spencer. Mr. Hotchin suitably replied.
