LOOSE COVERS FOR CARS.
In the same way as the woman of today does not regard her house merely as a roof to cover her head, so she does not consider her car only as a convenient mode of transport, for which any condition will do. Her housewifely instincts cry out against .dusty upholstery and the particles: of dirt that blow in from the open road. In order to protect herself and the car from these she has adopted slip covers (like furniture' covers) for the upholstery of her car. Slip-on.covers can be obtained in many good designs, and some materials are specially prepared so that they can be sponged with soap and water without fear of moisture soaking through to the ■ upholstery j others can be removed and washed in the usual way. These covers are made to put on either by means of press-studs or a cord slipped through steel eyes, and could be made by a thrifty housewife.
