THEFTS FROM LAUNCHES.

Launch owners in Auckland have been troubled lately, by petty thieves. An inspection yesterday of the launches Eros and Matarere, which are anchored in St. Mary's Bay, Ponsonby, revealed that the boats had been broken into and articles of considerable value taken. The door of tlu cabin of the Eros was forced, and the missing goods include an attache case and rugs .and a gramophone and records. A mainsail, five charts, marine glasses and an anchor were removed from the Matarere.
