BACKFIRING OF ENGINE.
DRIVER'S NARROW ESCAPE,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. The engine of fi 12-seater bus, owned by Messrs. Corbet and Winder, backfired on the Tiki Hill, Coromandel, at 4 jun. yesterday, when returning from taking relief workers to Golville. It immediately became a mass of flames, and the driver, u man named Warren, had great difficulty in getting out owing to tho door jamming. The bus was insured in tho South British Office for mo.
