OPEN MARKETS.

Mrs. Ruby E. Watson's letter is a- very good one. She says we have waste, which in itself is a. crime. Mr. Turner says it is ridiculous to think that it would pay any grower to come into town and try to sell his produce. In Melbourne they have open markets and the growers travel ail-night to get into the markets early. It is not too far for them and it would not be too far for the growers here. Each ,one has his stall and sells straight to the consumer. Everything —-potatoes, onions, cabbage, lettuce, . beef, bacon, eggs, _ fruit, drapery, everything you can mention—is soid and it is about time the people here woke up .and demanded the open market, 60 the grower could sell straight to the consumer. KEEP ON FIGHTING.
