PRAISE FOR THE GOVERNMENT.

' There is a lot of weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth .over the Budget and other measures put out by the United party. Will the citizens and electors of New Zealand not give honour where honour is due I did not vote for the (government myself, but I must say Mr. Forbes and his party deserve acclamation from everyone for the bold, fearless way they are trying to mend the breaks and pull the country out of the bogs of despair, empty exchequer and gross mismanagement which the Tory (Reform) party left as a legacy for their successors. "For 'tis not in mortals to command success, but we'll do more—deserve it," is an apt quotation applied to Mr. Forbes. The Premier is a true patriot. Instead of going outside the country to borrow money, he is getting the money he wants in the country, and is not taxation in the country better than borrowed capital from outside? Naturally there is, room for criticism in some the measures put forth, but I am not writing as a critic, only as a eulogist of Mr. Forbes and his colleagues. I trust thevj will carry on the good work . with the help of our friends the Labour party, and so keep back the Reform party, for the latter never.must .be allowed to. climb to the Treasury benches again.
