EFFECT OF DROUGHT.

(Received 9 a.m.) WINNIPEG, Aug. 6. Torrid weather over the wheatlands caused net gains 5% to 5% cents per bushel on the market on Wednesday. October deliveries closed at $1.2%, December $I.4Vi, and May 1.10%. Chicago Values Jump. Wheat soared 5 to 6% cents on Wednesday and corn 6% to 7% cents for September delivery. Trading nearly reached a riot stage at the mid-session as buyers found offerings scant.
