COURSING AT TE AROHA.
LOCAL CLUB'S EVENT.
The Te Aroha Coursing Club held a maiden stakes meeting of £22 10/ on Its enclosure at Herriesvllle yesterday afternoon. ■- The weather was ideal and there was a good attendance. Fourteen dogs took part and the winner was Mrs. M. E. Reid's Gold 'Size. Following are the details: — First Round. —Mrs. 'M. E. Reid's Gold Size beat A. Poole's Volimond, H. Rosenfeldt's Machinery beat McCudden's Boston Jack, J. Hall's Paddy beat Samson's Tigritiya, P. Johnson's Speed 'beat A. Smerdon'e Lone Hand, /Bottomley and Charters' Blast beat J. Gardiner's Blue Paper, T. Cronin's Flash Eye beat J. Fltzpatrick's Lorn a Boone, Letherby's (Battling Black, a bye. Second 'Round. —Gold Size beat Battling Black, Machinery beat Paddy, Speed beat Blast (dropped dead), Flash Eye, a bye. Third Round. —'Gold Size beat Machinery, Speed beat Flash Bye. (Final. —©old Size beat Speed. At the conclusion of the coursing Mr. N. Corcoran, the judge, was presented with a ,-old-mounted fountain pen as' a mark of •appreciation of his .services to the club.
