POISONED CATTLE.

COURT CASE AT WHANGAREI i CLAIM TO RECOVER VALUE. PLAINTIFF NONSUITED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Reserved judgment was given by Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., in the cattle poisou* ing case in which D. J. Finlayson pro* ceeded against H. A. Swaffield, dealer, of Papatoetoe, for £43, the value of certain cattle which were bought by Swaffield and which died on the train after being trucked and dipped at his request by Finlayson, the seller. The evidence of Departmental experts was that the cattle died of arsenical poisoning, which had not arisen from dipping. The magistrate said there were vital points missing in the evidence of plaintiff and he must be nonsuited.
