SHERIFF'S RESPONSIBILITY.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The fate of Arthur Thomas Munn, who on the evening of Tuesday, May 27, was sentenced to death for the murder of his wife by giving her poison, was pronounced to-day by the Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes.
The Prime Minister made .the following announcement: —"The case of Arthur Thomas Munn, who was convicted of murder, was considered by a meeting of the Executive Council presided over by 'his Excellency the Governor-General this morning, when it was decided that the sentence of the Court should be carried out."
The actual date of the execution will be announced to-morrow or on Friday.
