Celebrations on 100 th Year of
Independence.
BRITAIN'S GOODWILL MESSAGE
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 22. The- centenary of the independence of Belgium was celebrated in London on Sunday. Cardinal Bourne conducted a Te Deium service in Westminster Cathedral. King George was represented by the Earl °of Granard. The Belgian Ambassador, Baron de Marchienne, and his staff were present. . The Prime Minister, Mr. Mac Donald, yesterday sent the Belgian Prime Minister, M. Henri Jaspar, a telegram expressing friendly goodwill on behalf of the British Government and the people of Britain, who, he said, had shared Belgium's sorrows and wished also to share in her joys. Mr. Mac Donald said he was confident that he interpreted the feelings of all classes of the British public when he begged M. Jaspar to accept their heartiest good wishes for the continued happiness and prosperity of his great country.
