"STAR'S" FIRESIDE PUZZLES.
COMPETITION DRAWING TO A CLOSE
£50 TO BE DIVIDED AMONGST LUCKY WINNERS
LAST INSTALMENT APPEARS ON WEDNESDAY NEXT.
The Fireside Puzzles are now in their fourth week and although the last section appears on Wednesday next, it is not yet too late to enter for this fascinating competition. # A few back numbers of the "Star" containing the first sets of the puzzles are still available through the publishing department. For mail orders send 2d for each issue required and Id for postage. As previously stated, the Fireside Puzzles comprise a series of 24 specially selected, fascinating puzzles, which are released bi-weekly in groups of three in the children's columns (Wednesday and Saturday) for the month of July. Entrance is by the numbered coupons which appear with each section. The winner will be the boy or girl who scores the greatest number of marks for the entire competition. \ As each question carries a stated number of marks competitors will be able to see for themselves just how many points they will drop if they cannot solve or do not attempt any question which perhaps does not appeal to their particular taste. It is most important that competitors should read carefully all the rules and special conditions of the competition. Rulebreakers will be disqualified, so don't send in your work incorrectly.
