RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND CLUB.
The third shoot for the winter service trophy was fired by the Auckland City Rifle Club at Penrose on Saturday. The practices were application,, rapid and snap shooting at 300 yards. Conditions were only fair, and. except for the card returned by H. Simmonds, who won easily from scratch, the scores were below the average. Simmonds won the spoon, and is now leading for the trophy with five points, S. Griffiths, A. Sommerville and R. McLeay being in second place with three each. . With handicaps Rdded, the scores are:— W. Simmonds 111, R. McLeay 97, C. Robinson 87 H. W. Cozens 81, C. J. M. Clark 78, C. Wright 73, A. Sommerville 71, and J. T. Hill 60^
