PASSING THROUGH.

SYMPATHY AT ASHBURTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. Business was suspended for half an hour as a tribute to Sir Joseph Ward as the train passed through the borough this morning. The Mayor, county chairman and councillors offered the sympathy of the borough and the county to the members of the family. Sir Cyril Ward acknowledged their brief remarks. Wreaths from both local bodies and the post office were handed over. A large gathering of the public attended to pay the last respects.
