ECONOMIC COUNCIL.
DISTINGUISHED GATHERING. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 12 noon.) KUGBY, July 10. The Prime Minister presided to-day over a meeting at his official residence of the Economic Advisory Council, which was set up in January to co-ordinate tha work of the Departments concerned with economic and industrial matters and to advise the Government on trade matters Generally. In addition to the leading members of the Government, including the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Snowden, and the President of the Board, of Trade, Mr. W. Graham, several distinguished economists and prominent industrialists are members of the council. An Imperial sub-committee of the council was appointed some months ago under the chairmanship of the wellknown steel magnate, Sir Arthur Balfour, who is a member.of the council.
