FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. ? BUSINESS QUIETER. AUSTRALIAN ISSUES DULL. After a Busy morning yesterday business on the local Exchange quietened down, and only a small number of additional sales had been recorded when this morning's call terminated. Although bank shares and other Australian securities -ivere easier this morning there was no marked drop in values. A buyer came forward for Australias, but at £11 17/6 his bid was well under recent sale prices. Nationals of Australasia were offered at £14 10/. and the cont. issue at £7 2/. New South Wales, after a sale yesterday at £3S, were still on offer at the same figure. The merger proposals have stiffened the market for Robinson Ice after a sale at £1 5/9 sellers raised their limits to £1 7/. Government'stocks were asked for at late rates, but there were no sellers. At the Noon Call. ' , The noon call found business still dull and markets irregular. For Australians of Commerce buyers- dropped back to £ 1 2/, for Union Banks to £11 5/, and for National of Australasia to £14 2/6. New South Wales eased further, with a sale at £37 15/. Imperial Tobacco, which was nrst quoted this week, was asked for at £4 10/ for the £5 share. Waihi Grand Junctions were farmer, with buyers at 2/. The latest depression in Australian securities was evident in a sale of Goldsbrough, Moris at £1 7/. A year ago this scrip was worth fully £1 more. A parcer- of Government stocks, 4%, (1938) was offered at par. A good-sized parcel of Commercial Banks changed hands at £1 1/1. SALES COMPLETED. Last Sale. AT THE 3.15 P.M.
