Court City of Auckland held their annual singles competition foi- the handsome ciip. presented by Bro. Stan Keitf, P.C.R., and the final resulted in Bvo. A. Withers being the winner. This beins the second year iu succession that Bro. Withers has won the cup, it now becomes his own property. Bro. Stan Reid then presented the enp to the winner, and announced that lie would donate a similar cup for competition nn the same lines as the last, handicap singles on the two-life system. FRIENDLY SOCIETIES' CHAMPION PAIRS.

The final stages of the section play .of this touruey will be completed on Saturday next, July 12. Play starts at 1.30 sliarp, when five more rounds will be played. At present the issue is very open, with about 30 teams all having an excellent chance to qualify. The present leaders have still their hardest matches to play. Will last tourney's experience be repeated? Then all leaders of the first day's play fell down badly on the second day, and the fate of several teams was in the balance until the last game had been decided.
