SILVER BETTER FINED £35. "FLYING SQUAD" AGAIN BUSY. This morning's {{victim" of the policy "Flying. Squad" was Matthew" Scandlc, aged 50; ' Sca'ndle was arrested by DetectiveSergeant McHugh-just before midday on a charge of loitering in Symonds' Street for the purpose of betting. Appearing before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at'the Police Court not long afterwards, he admitted the charge. Mr. McHugh said Scandlc was not in a. large way of business, and was merely a- silver better." He was not in good Health. ;• ;The magistrate-imposed a fine of £25. .or,' Imprisonment, and allowed a week in which to pay the fine.
