CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND GUN CLUB. A fair number of shooters and visitors attended the fortnightly shoot of the Auckland Gun Club at Pakuranga. J. Donnelly (26yds) won the five-bird match outright with the possible. D. S. Ewing (26yds), W. E. Grant (25yds), W. H. Pellow (24yds) and C. H. Drysdale (21yds) divided second money with four each. A 10-bird match was won outright by D. S. Ewing (26vds) with the possible; F. H. Seccombe (27yds), J. Robertson (2oyds), W. H. Fellow (24yds), E. J. Pchofield (24 yds), and L. F. Ramsey (22yds) divided second and third money with nine each. A miss-and-out sweep, all shooters 4yds back on their original handicap, was divided by J. Donnelly (31yds), L. Ramsey (36yds), and W. Fairley (25yds) on the third round. In the unavoidable absence of Mr. "W. Curtis, the club's referee, the duties were capably carried out by Mr. D. Cairns.
