MAN UNLAWFULLY IN HOUSE
"This man went into a boarding house on Saturday night and slept in a room occupied bv a boarder who happened to be absent," said Sub-Inspector Slianahan when John Hart (37), a barman, came before the Police Court this morning on a charge of being found without lawful excuse on enclosed premises m Wellington Street. Hart pleaded guilty. "The proprietor had some trouble with this man previously. He had no authority to ■ occupy the room, added Mi. Shanahan. "Why did you. go there?" demanded the magistrate. "I knocked at the door and could not find anyone, so I went in and went to sleep," said accused. "I've. got the money at home to pay." Mr. Hunt: If you have a home, why did you go to the boarding house?—l 1 don't know..- I had stayed there before. Hart was fined £1, or three days' imprisonment.
