NEW LEADER APPEARS "Lindy's" Father-in-Law Enters Political Arena. PRESIDENTIAL POSSIBILITY, (United P.A.-Blectric Telegraph-Copyright) (Received 1 p.m.) - WASHINGTON", June IS. A new political figure rose on the national • horizon when Mr. Dwight Morrow won the New Jersey Republican Senatorial primary vote by an overwhelming plurality " that will reach an excess of 250,000. Mr. Morrow defeated his opponent, Mr. Franklin Fort, who ran on the "dry" platform, by 335,000 to 95,000.

While New Jersey is known to be wet, Mr. Morrow's victory on a platform calling for the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment is nevertheless conceded on evferv side to make him the natioruu leader, of the movement against prohibition and the return to State control of the. liquor traffic. His choice in the November, elections as senator is considered certain, and with his reputation as a financier and diplomat,", he becomes an outstanding Republican Presidential possibility should the question of replacing President Hoover for his second term arise. Mr. Dwight Morrow, who was one of the American delegates to the Naval Conference, created a political sensation in a speech at Newark, New Jersey, on May 15, in which he launched his campaign for nomination to the Senate. Mr. Morrow asked for the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment and the reversion of liquor control to the individual States. He proposed an amendment to the Constitution, vesting power in the Federal Government to give all possible protection and assistance to those States that might desire complete prohibition against invasion from the States that do not desire it. Mr. Morrow was formerly U.S. Ambassador to Mexico. He is father-in-law -of "Lindy."
