INFORMATION REFUSED.

STATEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. Referring to the Auckland protest against the instructions to the engineers at Arapuni to refuse information, the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. W. B. Taverner, says the Government has called for a geological report to be followed by the engineers' recommendations. When both have been received, the Government will consider what is to be done. Until the reports have been received there are no reliable premises on which to base conclusions.
