DIXIELAND.
With its gay decorations and atmosphere of revelry, the popular cabaret by the sea was a'most attractive place on Saturday evening. In the twilight dances the scene was entrancing. Chinese lights shone softly in the gloom, and a spotlight was turned on the revolving novelty ball in th& centre. On the tables in the cubicles were bowls of early 'spring flowers, and palms and greenery were placed here and there. The famous Dixieland Dance Band supplied spirited music, and many encores were given. Some delightful frocks were worn by the dancers. Among those present were: The Countess of Orford, who wore a frock of deep cream moire with gold lace inlet in skirt and trimmed with French embroideries; Mrs. Oakes, forest green velvet with fur at hem; Mrs. J. K. Jameson, black georgette and black lace; Mrs. Ernest Alison, eau de nil moire with green net yoke; Mrs. Edgar Bartleet, sunglow georgette frock; Mrs. C. Aekroyd, flame coloured taffeta; Mrs. D. Thompson/ larkspur blue frock with lace frills; Mrs. Miles, parchment lace and georgette; Mrs. C. Chambers, black georgette with skirt of black lace; Mrs. Whitcombe, moonlight blue moire; Mrs. F. Waters gold lame and gold lace; Mrs. A. G. Jones, floral moire in tones of rose and blue; Mrs. Nichols, champagne lace and georgette; Airs Alleman, pink taffeta shot with siverjlT d I Robertson, deep cream georgette with flounced skirt; Mrs. Kin°, black lace and georgette; Mrs. 0.
