NAVAL RESERVE.
Having gained the Marine Department's certificate for-a deep-water yacht master last year, Mr. R. S. Cameron, of Auckland,, recently obtained his certificate of efficiency for officers of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Mr. Camerou is a lieutenant in the R.N.V.R., and his success last year was the first of its kind for 33 years. The examination for officers of the R.N.V.R. is identical with that set for a foreigngoing master's certificate and the standard is very high. Mr. Cameron is on the staff of the Bank of New Zealand and has studied in his spare time at the Richmond Nautical School.
