NEW BRIDGE IN NORTH.
TO BE OPENED BY MINISTER.
, NAMING A NEW BLOCK,
(By Telegraph.—Cwn Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day,
A dual function of great importance to that part of the Whangarei district lying between Ruakaka and the sea is being arranged to take place at One Tree Point on June 30.
Tho Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. A. J. Murdoch, is to make a special trip from, Wellington to assist in opening the bridge, joining the recently formed One Tree Point Road to Ruakaka. This road opens up several thousand acres of newly-drained swamp land.
At the same gathering opportunity will bo taken to decide a suitable name for the new block, which at present is known variously as One Tree Point, Marsden Point and Takahiwai. To avoid confusion it is proposed that the block be called Bellevieu, after the wellknown estate.
In the evening a social'function will be held in the farmhouse at the old Bellevieu estate.
