Transport is essential to civilisation. 1 is just as important as production-itself a a tax on petrol is as indefensible as a coal or horse feed. About naj New Zealand has adopted this method . property taxation. The motor induetiy ' already overtaxed. It contributes over millions a year to the revenue. It has proved so efficient it can carry this enormous load of taxa and still beat the horse and train.. ° Nt roads and motors farms which were once in the never-never are brought close- to ; markets and centres.
