MINOR FIRES.

Minor damage was done by two fires in Devonport yesterday evening and were put out by the Devonport Brigade without difficulty. One, at 5.30, was a chimney lire, and the other about 6.30 was the house of Mr. G. Haigarth, of 4, North Avenue, where a fire had broken out in the floor underneath the copper. A false alarm to " a house in Gibraltar Crescent called the City Brigade out yesterday afternoon. A passerby thought he saw smoke coming from the house and informed the brigade.
