" King's Birthday Parade. Most troops (with the*exception of No.' 1 Division, who held a Scouts' >o\vn as reported elsewhere) availed themselves of the invitation to send a patrol to the King's Birthday church parade held at St. Matthew's Church on Sunday last. Commissioner for Cubs A. J. Veart represented Mr. Holdsworth, who was attending the No. 1 Division Scouts' Own. The parade was under the control of D.S.M. Alan Tribble. #••.•■■• H.Q. Jottings. Advisory Board meets to-morrow (Thursday) night. First Cornwall Pack holding seventh birthday party to-morrow night.

No. 1 Division Scouts' Own. The troops of No. 1 Division (D.S.M, P. E. Walls) held a combined Scouts' Own on Sunday last on the grounds of the Howe Street Girls* Grammar School. There were about 50 scouts and scouters present. Commissioner W. J. Holdsworth, who took the talk, gave a most interesting yarn on "Foundations," U3ing as his text the Biblical example of the man who built his house on a rock. The pow-wow was both instructive and uplifting. After the service the Commissioner took the salute as the troops marched past.

Rover Section. The. following circular to all Rovers arid Rover Crews has been issued by District Rover Leader C. Ruxton Bach. Attention is called to resolutions passed at the last Advisory Board meeting concerning Rover Crews. They read thus: All Rovers and Rover. Squires in Auckland are required to re-register at headquarters before June 30, 1930. (Definition of a "Rover Squire" is an uninitiated Rover, or in other words a person intending to be initiated as a Rover). All crews formed, or in formation, are required to re-rcgistcr. No Rover badges are to be worn by other than initiated Rovers, and Bover Squires are to wear the correct yellow and green shoulder knot. A ruling for the wearing of combined Rover and Scoutmaster badges has been asked for. It reads as follows:—"The two uniforms are to be distinct and not mixed, but on the tenderfoot worn on the left pocket R.S. be superimposed."
