EXTRAORDINARY FINISH.

TWO STARTERS IN A RACE.

JUDGE DECLARES A DEAD-HEAT.

There was a most extraordinary finish in a race at Newcastle last Saturday week. In the Wallace Mile, Warneton and Sislenc were the only staiteisWarneton led till the straight, and then Sislene put in a good run and appeared to have the race in hand, but Warneton came again, and the two horses struggled over the line together; the judge declaring a dead-heat. There was great laughter at the result, for supporters ol both horses were losers. Nevertheless both were given a hearty reception on returning to scale.
