A fracture of the base of the skull and a compound fracture involving the left knee joint were sustained by Alexander Kennedy, a linesman, in the employ of the South Taranaki Electric Power Board, when he fell from a pole near Manaia yesterday afternoon. "With an assistant he was fixing an extension to the top of the pole. It is reported he was standing on the crossarm and leaning over placing the bolt in position on the extension.
