RABBIT SKIN SALES.

PROSPECTS BRIGHTER. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Duncdin, report as follows:—Since the close of last seas/11 foreign fur'markets hav? slumped heavily, and considerable stocks of skins are still held in London awaitfng sale at prices which muet show severe losses to shippers. Until quite recently it looked as if prices for rabbit skins this season would be at an unpayable level for trappers, but prospects are now much brighter, and on the basis of to-day's sale trappers should again find it well worth while to operate as usual. Prices will be lower-, than the extremely high rates to which we have become accustomed during the past few years, but this is. only to be expected when all farm commodities in all markets have suffered a severe readjustment in values. At to-day's sale there was keen competition for all autumn and incoming winter grades, and the latter sold up to 50d per lb.. On this basis, wjnter skins should bo at quite a payable level. _ The following is the range of prices:— Runners and suckers, up to 17% d, summers 15d, light racks 34Y*d, prime racks 27 1 /& d, clawny autumns 27% d, fawns, 25d, small, B'/id, horsehair 16d, incoming winters 50d, summer broken, 14d, autumn /broken 21% d, summer black 16% d, autumn black 24% d, milky hare skins 12'/id.'
