BOTH MEN FIT.
WEATHER FAVOURABLE. SPECTATORS FROM ALL PARTS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) 5' DUNEDEST, this day. Donovan and Sarron, looking as fit as hands could make them, weighed in this morning. Both men were called on to make 9st lib. Donovan weighed Bst 13|lb, nd Sarron half a pound less, which is the lightest he has been v ew Zealand. After several days' rain the weather cleared this morning, and prospects were that the bout would be staged under favourable conditions. The bookings during the week hardly came up to expectations, numbering only about 1000, but there were further heavy bookings this morning, and the indications pointed to a record crowd. The express from Christchurcli brought a big crowd of fight followers, and another big following came up from Invercargill. There are boxing fans from all over the South Island present, and some from the North Island. The purse has not been disclosed, but it is not unlikely that the contestants will divide the best part of £900—£700 at all events is definite. Even with such a big purse and heavy expenses, the Otago Association should have a satisfactory profit. This is the third meeting between the pair, Donovan having won the other two fights, one on a foul and the other on points.
