SWIMMING.
STATUS or PATBOIMEIf. controversy at christchurch. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The automatic disqualification of swimmers "who have acted for a few weeks as beacli patrolmen, was discussed last evening at a meeting of the Canterbury- Centre of the Royal Life Saving Society. Ifc was decided to take steps to urge that some modification of the rule be made, as at the present time those who have acted as paid patrolmen lave to wait for two years and a half before they can he restored to amateur status.
