His biographer says of him that "virtue for him consisted in the avoidancc of all physical pleasures." Centuries after his ' death Castiglione, the famous etcher, perpetu ated his memory by depicting him in' one of his principal etchings as searching in the dav time with a lantern looking for an honest man He was described as a Christian and an epicurean. At his death the Corinthians erected a monument to his memory. Mr. Bloodwortli might, with advantage, add these facts to his meagre knowledge of the classics. DIOGENES. '
