THEFT OF WHISKY.

YOUNG MAN ADMITS GUILT.
Two men who were wanting some whiskv for a party broke into the residence of Mr. G. W. Hutchison, Portland Road, Remuera, on March 22. One, Raymond Trevor Child, 21, labourer, admitted to Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at the Police Court yesterday that he had stolen four bottles of whisky, three bottles of Vermouth liqueur and two Told rings, of a total value of £7 3/6. The house was locked up for the weekend, said George W. Hutchison, public accountant, in evidence, and witness gave a description of the state of the rooms when he and his wife returned home.
Child, in a statement to the police, said he had left his home at 7 p.m. on March 22. The two went by tram to Portland Road, Remuera. where they knew the house of Mr. Hutchison was empty. A glass panel was broken in the front door, liquor was stolen and also two rings. A plea of guilty was entered by the accused, and he was committed for sentence.
