'Arthur Caddy, alias Alley, who yes-, terdav vas sentenced to three months imprisornieKt for embezzling ship's Stores, v/as to-day charged with assaulting Beit Hoare, a member of the crew of the Baranga. : - Complainant was helping a constable, round up niembers of the crew. He met Caddy, who attacked him in the street and on the wharf. a:;d later Caddy went up-behind him on the ship with an open razor. Caddy, in defence, told a story of a "reign "of terror" instituted by Hoare and twq others. He said these men attacked him and he got a razor to protect himself. .The magistrate said he did not attach much importance to the actual fight, but the introduction of a razor was serious. He. sentenced Caddy to one month's imprisonment, in addition to his previous sentence.
