ALTERATIONS .SINCE 1928.
Heavier polling than at the last election is expected when the time arrives for deciding the Parnell seat. _At the general election in 1928 . there were 14,073 names on the Parnell roll/and of that number 12,179 people exercised their franchise. Eighty-three' informal votes ( were recorded, and the number of con- . stituents who did not vote was 1894. In 1925, the roll number was 13,882, and in 1922, 11,697. .' ' ' ... . The roll that will be used for the by-
election will he considerably altered, according to the Registrar of Electors (Mr. F. Evans)., There is a number of names to be removed from it owing to objections, and many people have shifted to other addresses, and have ' consequently been transferred to other electorates. Where necessary the maiden names of women have been changed, and additions have been made in the case of new registrations by young people who Jiave-attained the age of 21 years.
