DELHI, March 27.
Hundreds of thousands of boys and girls, mostly of Hindu caste and many still in the cradle, are being married throughout India in the last few days available to evade the provisions of the Indian Child Marriage Act which comes into operation on Tuesday next.
The Act raises the marriage age to fourteen, and the age of consent to sixteen. .■•'■■•";
Most brides and bridegrooms are between nine and twelve, but instances have been reported, from the Bombay district where girls a few days old were married in some cases to men twenty years their seniors.
