Farrell, the former Auckland sprint champion, was in fine form at the Auckland University College : swimming championships at the Tepid Baths last evening* winning the 50yds, 100 yds and 220 yds titles in times that were all college records, i Miss E. Lietz was the inoet 'successful lady competitor, winning the 33 1-3 yds, the 50yds and the 100 yds races. G. Rix-Trott was FarrelTs most; serious rival, while Miss J. Thom-son-was first in the backstroke and breaststroke. Good times were registered, and excellent finishes had the spectators .interested throughout the evening. Results: —
Ladies' Breaststroke Championship. —Miss J. Thomson 1. Won easily. Time, 42 2-ss. •■ Ladies' Championship, 100 Yards.—Miss B. Lietz 1, Miss H. Gaze 2, Miss K. Bull 3. Won by three yards. Final: Farrell 1, lUx-Trott 2, Gunn 3 Farrell and Rix-Trott turned into the last lap together and in an exciting, tussle over the last .15 yards Farrell drew away to win by one and a half yards from RixTrott, who beat Gunn by about six yards. Farrell was three yards in front of Rix-Trott, who was' leading easily McLean at 200 yds. In tho sprint to the rope, Farrell drew still further away and won with four yards to spare from Rix-Trott.
