Man Who Lived 29 Years as Female. MARRIAGE SENSATION. - LONDON, March 25. The inhabitants of the. village of. Tjsbury, Wiltshire, were surprised' when: they learned that Evan Montague Burt, who was announced, to marry Sarah Matilda Edwards, was no other than Eva Mary Burt, who had been living at Tisbury for' 29 years as girl and woman. A Wesleyan. minister, who is to marrv the couple, stated that' Burt,- as Eva, was a very popular "girl," a loyal church worker and of a type he considered most womanly. ' Burt met Miss Edwards at an institution where both were employed, the former as a nurse, and the latter as an assistant. - Widespread general and medical interest has been aroused in the case. Burt, who dressed as a man for the first time yesterday, said:— "I have been forced all my life to, wear pinafores, play with dolls and have the companionship of girls. Now I am a man, and I can go to public, houses, drink • and smoke and wear men's clothes." \ : / He,, admitted that lie was uncomfortable in men's attire and prefers the dress and*apron such as he lias worn for 29 ■years., \ • ' 1 ' . , ' The wedding has been fixed for Easter: The couple are not likely to settle in their native village, .the residents .in which have been staggered by the revelations.' > ''-v'-. . - - •/ - Burt and Miss.
